01/4/97 (rev 2025) for jazz big band

The original version of this piece was created many years ago during an 'Approaches to Composition' weekend run by More Music in Morecambe, and scored for female voice, flugelhorn, clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax (optional), guitar, bass, djembe.

Around 2001 I rewrote it for Invention Ensemble, and I believe we may have played it on a number of occasions.

This latest version for big band has been workshopped by the Mackintosh Jazz Composers Ensemble, and is slated for performance by the Byres Road Big Band at some point.
